Our Story

In Memory of
Hada Shamma

Welcome to Shamma Antiques, where we showcase our collection of Antique Syrian Mother-of-Pearl Armoires. We are a private collector family with a vast collection of these stunning pieces passed down to us from our late mother, Hada Shamma. Our collection bears her name in her memory.

Our armoires were brought over from Syrian villages surrounding Damascus — Maaraba, Daraya, Sayed Nayah, Al Zabadani, Dummar, Maaloula, Bustan Door, and Kafr Suseh, among others — over a period of 25 years. Our late mother was passionate about collecting these armoires and traveled extensively to source them, carefully selecting each piece for its unique design, craftsmanship, and historical significance.

All our armoires are made of high-quality walnut wood, which was aged for 10 to 20 years before the intricate inlays of mother of pearl were crafted into stunning patterns. The armoires were made over 100 years ago, making them not only beautiful but also a valuable addition to any collection.

Our collection consists of over 20 armoires, each boasting a different design and craftsmanship. Our armoires have been stored in our family home in Amman, Jordan, where they remain in excellent condition. They are available for sale, and we invite you to take a look at our collection.

These antique Syrian Mother-of-Pearl Armoires are not only a beautiful addition to any home or collection, but they also have a rich cultural and historical significance. We take great pride in our collection and are passionate about sharing it with others.
